Scar Tissue

The sharp bright pain of fresh wounds
Grows dull with time. Though they heal
The scars are left as scrapbook
Memories.

Each one a window on the past
Through which the hurt still shines,
Less intense: scar tissue hard
And numb.

  1. I have never seen words online that are closer to my own fears, hopes or self speak. I don't know what that means to you, but thank you. For a brief moment I feel much less weird and alone.

  2. Thank you for sharing. I can't tell if this is my second post or not (issues signing in) but I did want to share how much it made me feel better, just to know I am not the only one who feels this way. I had never heard words like these outside of my own head till now. Thank you.

  3. Goodness, you're the closest blogging Aspie that I've found to my own experiences, Ben. I've subscribed and look forward to hearing more from you. I've only just learned that I have it, so I've been reading a lot about it.Definitely nice to know that I'm not the only one like this…

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
